Book an electrical assessment if the engine cranks slowly or will not start, the battery repeatedly goes flat, a battery or charging warning appears, lights flicker or fail, accessories work intermittently, or a fuse continues to blow. At our Whanganui workshop we test the relevant system before recommending a battery, alternator, starter or other component.
Depending on the symptom, testing may include battery condition and load, charging voltage and output, starter operation, accessible wiring, terminals, earths, fuses, lighting circuits and a scan of relevant control modules. Electrical faults can be intermittent, affected by previous modifications or spread across more than one circuit, so a warning light or flat battery does not by itself identify the failed part.
We agree an initial diagnostic scope, explain what has been confirmed and identify any further test time or specialist work that may be needed. Additional diagnosis, parts and repairs are carried out only after approval. Vehicle servicing, warning-light diagnosis and air-conditioning checks may be useful where drive belts, control systems or general vehicle condition contribute to the symptom.
