This policy explains how Holland Automotive collects, uses, stores and shares personal information in connection with the workshop and this website.
Information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect your name, contact details, address, company details, communication preferences, vehicle registration and vehicle information, booking and repair history, approvals, payment status, correspondence, photographs you send, and records needed for WoF, MSD, insurer, supplier or other authorised work.
Our website may also record basic technical and security information needed to operate forms, prevent spam and protect the site. We minimise this information and do not store a raw IP address with ordinary form submissions.
Why we collect it
We collect information that is reasonably necessary to:
- identify you and the vehicle;
- arrange bookings, quotes, inspections, diagnostics, servicing and repairs;
- contact you for instructions and record approval of work;
- order parts and coordinate specialist services;
- process payment, approved Afterpay or MSD arrangements, accounts and debt recovery;
- meet tax, safety, consumer, WoF and other legal or regulatory obligations;
- handle warranty claims, complaints and disputes; and
- maintain and secure the website and workshop systems.
Who we may share information with
We only disclose information where it is connected with the purpose for which it was collected, you authorise it, or the law permits or requires it. This can include parts suppliers, specialist repairers, workshop software and hosting providers acting for us, payment providers, MSD, insurers, NZTA or other regulators, professional advisers, and debt-recovery services.
Some service providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where that occurs, we remain responsible for taking reasonable steps to ensure the information is handled consistently with New Zealand privacy requirements.
Website forms and attachments
Quote and onboarding submissions are stored as private workshop records in WordPress and emailed to the nominated workshop address. Optional quote attachments are sent with the notification email and are not deliberately published in the public media library.
Do not send identity documents, bank-card details or unrelated sensitive information through a website form.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and anti-spam measures. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain records for as long as reasonably required for workshop service, legal, tax, warranty and dispute purposes. Website submissions may then be deleted or anonymised in accordance with our configured retention process.
Cookies and browser storage
The theme uses local browser storage to remember your optional measurement choice when analytics has been configured. WordPress, security services or other enabled plugins may also use cookies or browser storage needed for their functions. Optional analytics or advertising tools are not loaded by this theme until they have been configured and the required consent has been given.
Your access and correction rights
You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be retained even after a correction or deletion request where the law or a legitimate workshop-record requirement applies.
Privacy questions or complaints
Contact our privacy contact at info@hollandauto.co.nz, 06 777 3052, or 141 London Street, Whanganui. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner if you believe your privacy concern has not been resolved.
